Silly Monkey Stitches

I feel like a sewing machine!!  Not mechanical.......but WOW... that's all I've been doing.  I have a few projects in different stages of completion that I hope to have up on my site by the end of the weekend.  These are the products the FB competition winners picked.  Stay tuned because I **hope** they will all be done by this weekend!

I'm not a huge fan of diaper cakes, but the one I finished this week just TAKES THE CAKE!!!  It is sz 2 and NB sz diapers, 3 receiving blankets, a personalized, minky softie doll, 1 white kufti hat with a white feather clip.  Then, I through in a feather boa for Kenzie to play with when she's just a little older.  I remember playing dress up

I took another batch of merchandise down to Southern Treasures this morning.  Be sure to go by if you are in the Brookhaven area.  LOTS to choose from!

Now... for the new fabulous patterns I just ordered yesterday.  YES..they are fabulous!!!  I cannot wait for them to come in and get started!

Now, I'm going downstairs.. I've GOT to get this house cleaned up today and Conner to TaeKwonDo tonight   THEN, be back to sewing tomorrow!!  

I just got back from Brookhaven and setting up my booth!  Thank GOD that is behind me!  Feel a huge sigh of relief.

At least I am glad there isn't one!  I would be on youtube as one of the dancers you DO NOT want to emulate!  My baby is pounding out monograms and appliques non stop today.  I keep having to stand over it, trimming, etc... Well, I have PINK rocking out up here and can't stop myself from dancing.  Every so often, Conner comes to investigate...he'll do a little break dancing, then head back downstairs. 

Stress level is WAAAAAAY down now that I have my scan results back and got the ALL CLEAR!!  So... just jamming and working today.

Oh my!!  The Silly Monkey wants his own dojo one day to teach CROCHET... for some reason, that is what he is calling TaeKwonDo.  Not sure why crochet sounds like taekwondo.... only in his little brain I guess.    Anyway, he started his first lesson today and is so excited about continuing!  I HAVE to take a couple of pics of him in action. To me, the most humorous part of it all was when he was talking about a bad dream he had last night where a chicken was chasing him.... (he eats too much white meat) and he now has "ALL the moves to stop that chicken"..... those were his own words Yep, he's cool.  At least in his own mind!!

Right now, I am staring at 4 boxes of new embroidery blanks inventory I just received today.  LOTS of items to photograph and get up on my site since the "items to embroider" page hasn't been updated since the inception of this webpage.... almost 2 years ago.  NOT looking forward to the pics, I AM NOT a photographer!  I can't even shoot stills!  So.........after I unpack, label and iron 300+ items........maybe.........I will shoot some pics of them.  In the meantime, if you are looking for something in particular, just ask.  I have everything from union suits to sweatshirts, to tshirts, to animal print onesies, to bubble suits, shortalls, rompers, etc........ the list goes on and on and on and on and on

Back in my sewing room today trying, trying, TRYING to get stuff finished for my booth.  At least being busy keeps my mind occupied

Not posting any new pics of items until I'm finished with everything for my booth!  It seemed like I wasn't making any headway and now all of a sudden, I do seem to have a little store ready!!  Just trying to stay ahead now..................and finish the 14 orders I got today

Back to sewing!!

Well......I started off the new year with a bang and cleaned my sewing room!!  Unbelievable - especially to those who know and love me   I took a pic because I KNEW it wouldn't last long. 

For all of the sewing and embroidery enthusiasts who read this - yes...that is fabri in the upper shelves as well as in all of the zipper containers below my workspace. What can I say??  I am a fabric-a-holic.  And, discounting the big red stock pot you see in my other pic, those are all embroidery blanks stashed in the other shelves. My sewing room *used* to be my husband's office.  Who knew that what worked well for an engineer would also work well for a sewing enthusiast?  It's like my own little cave up here in the attic, turned office, turned sewing room...

I cannot show you current pictures.............because.......well.................I can't find the camera amidst all the chaos in here   I am trying to make items, amidst all of the orders for my new booth at Southern Treasures in Brookhaven.  I'm really excited about the opportunity.  I move in 2/15 and am just beside myself with excitement right now!!  Y'all will have to come check me out once i get settled.  Don't worry, I'll post pics of my booth for those of you who aren't local.

Today, I completed my last PT appointment for the year and only 2 more appointments left total.  Yay me!!!  Afterwards, I went in search of fabrics and patterns for Spring and Summer.   I had soooooooo much fun!!  As soon as we celebrate the New Year, I head back to work. I have 5 outfits cut out, so I should zip through them fairly quickly.  AND... as soon as that is done.... I get to play!  I love trying out my new patterns and getting the opportunity to change them to my whim. I have the patterns traced and cut to size, as well as the fabric laying ready for the first 7 outfits.  For those of you who have been lusting after some of the Kelly's Kids outfits - you won't be disappointed! 

I should be pretty busy over the next few weeks, so probably won't be blogging very much.  I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year's!!  I do NOT plan on making any New Year's resolutions this year.... How about you?

My last order is stitching out right now...this very minute... Nothing work related left to do, before Christmas, in about 5 mins.  I still haven't made the apron for my Mom.  It's looking like Mother's Day I guess.  I have a busy day tomorrow and I know that Thursday will be beyond busy.  I've resigned myself to the fact that it just won't happen.

My personal shopper (Conner) and I got on planet applique's website today and had a fabulous time picking out new appliques for next year.  He picked out plenty for me to make him next week.  Keep on the look out for new arrivals...

YAY!!  Finally in the home stretch it seeems!

I've completed the biggest majority of customer orders, only a couple of local orders left to complete.  Hope to have them all out of my sewing room by Monday.  **big sigh**  I know my baby (the embroidery machine) is giving a huge sigh of relief too.  She's ready for a vacay as well!

I only have a couple of family gifts to get ready by Christmas.  Conner needs new towels for his bathroom - which does not seem like a fun Christmas gift when you are 5.  I do believe he will like this set though.  I appliqued batman's logo for one set ( 1 towel shown below) and still have to finish up the superman logo set.   These have been hard to get done.  Since he is at home with me the majority of the time AND likes to stay in my sewing room as well; I haven't had much "alone time" to get them done. Sorry about the yellowish hue to the photo.  Don't know WHY it is looking like that.  It is a white towel w/ the batman logo.... maybe I need to add a camera to my Christmas list???  I don't think my hubby will go for it since he just bought my present yesterday.  Got brand new living room furniture .   I'll remember to add the camera to my want list for another upcoming holiday or birthday

Still hoping to get my Mom's apron done before Christmas as well.  This is the apron I was going to do for Mother's Day this year............  Ordered the vintage rooster fabric JUST for this apron....  Oh well, I guess if I miss Christmas this year, there is always Mother's Day right around the corner.

My Baby is beeping that she is finished.  JUST 3 MORE ITEMS!!!!
